★SELF INTRODUCTION
Hey there, it's nice to meet you! My name is Kaoru and I'm just getting started as a Japanese language teacher. I'm looking forward to getting to know you through our chats.
I'm a Japanese woman living in Yokohama. I used to work as a nurse in various settings, but now I'm a stay-at-home mom with two young children. I love interacting with people and hearing their stories, and I find great fulfillment in helping others. I especially enjoyed chatting with patients and listening to the stories of the elderly. Even though my schedule is busy with my kids, I am determined to provide the best lessons for my students and am available for classes in the evenings and on the weekends. I've also had the opportunity to study abroad in Australia and I am proficient in English, so I can use it to assist in your understanding of the language. I've achieved an IELTS 7.0 score, registered as a qualified nurse in Australia and recently in my free time, I study for the Japanese Language Education Ability Test. I've put in a lot of effort to improve my English, so I'm excited to share my experience and help others learn a new language.
★LESSON STYLES
Disclaimer: Currently, I may not have all the qualifications of a Japanese teacher, but I'm more than happy to help in any way I can. Unfortunately, I won't be able to provide lessons that require specialized knowledge like exam preparation or advanced business conversations, but I'll do my best to help you in any other way possible.
I will adjust my teaching style to fit the needs of my students, such as speaking speed, formal or casual language, and areas of focus for corrections.
1. Freestyle
We can talk casually about any topics that interest you! Share your hobbies, stories about our day, talk about your favorite foods, and more. It's always fun to get to know someone new and have a casual conversation. And if you have any specific topics you would like to talk about, feel free to bring them up as well. Let's have a great time practicing.
2. Reading Practice
Reading practice is a great way to improve your language skills. Let's work together to read various materials such as websites, books, manga, and newspapers. If you have any specific materials you'd like to use, feel free to send them my way. I'll help you understand the content and context, as well as work on your pronunciation. I'll also explain any new words or expressions we come across.
3. Writing Practice
Let's work together to write different types of texts such as emails, letters, diaries and more. I will be more than happy to guide you through it, providing feedback on grammar, vocabulary and style, helping you to express yourself better in writing.
4. Practice Listening and Speaking in Specific Situations
If you have had experiences of not understanding what the other person was saying or not knowing how to respond in that situation, let's try exercises to work on those scenarios. We can practice in situations such as in a restaurant, at the city hall, bank, post office, hospital,or on public transportation. It can be helpful to act out these situations and work on understanding how to respond in those circumstances.

また、私（わたし）はオーストラリアへの語学留学（ごがくりゅうがく）の経験（けいけん）があり、英語（えいご）での説明（せつめい）もできます。

１、フリースタイル
趣味（しゅみ）、今日（きょう）あったこと、好（す）きな食べ物（たべもの）など、どんなことでもいいので、おもしろそうな話題（わだい）を選（えら）んで気軽（きがる）におしゃべりをしましょう。初（はじ）めてのレッスンではお互（たが）いのことを知（し）るために、フリースタイルでお話（はなし）するのがいいかもしれません。もし興味（きょうみ）のある話題（わだい）があればレッスンのはじめに教（おし）えてください。難（むずか）しいことは考（かんが）えずにおしゃべりを楽（たの）しみましょう！
２、読（よ）む練習（れんしゅう）
読む練習は読解能力（どっかいのうりょく）を向上（こうじょう）させます。ウェブサイト、本（ほん）、漫画（まんが）、新聞（しんぶん）など様々（さまざま）な教材（きょうざい）を使（つか）って読む練習をしましょう。使用（しよう）したい教材がある場合（ばあい）は、画像（がぞう）を送（おく）るなどして私（わたし）に教（おし）えてください。内容（ないよう）や文脈（ぶんみゃく）を理解（りかい）できているのか、発音（はつおん）が正（ただ）しくできているのか、一緒（いっしょ）に確認（かくにん）していきます。新（あたら）しい単語（たんご）や表現（ひょうげん）についても学（まな）びましょう。
